• Access to water, power, and hookups with 6” of machine location

  4. Evaporator plate: The evaporator plate is the component that comes into direct contact with water to freeze it into ice. Inspect the evaporator plate for any mineral buildup, scale, or slime. Clean ice machines should have a clean and smooth evaporator plate.
  5. Water system: Check the water inlet valve, water filter (if applicable), and water distribution components for any signs of debris, sediment, or mold. Make sure the water lines are clear and free from any blockages.
  6. Sanitizing and maintenance records: Ask the operator or the responsible person about the machine’s cleaning and maintenance schedule. A well-maintained ice machine should have regular cleaning and sanitization procedures documented.
  7. Manufacturer’s guidelines: Refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines or user manual for specific instructions on cleaning and maintenance. Follow these instructions to ensure the machine is cleaned according to the recommended procedures.
